"Love to Mama"

This poetry book is about the relationship and bond between mothers and their children, and grandchildren. This book includes poems from a wide selection of latino poets. The colorful and creative illustrations are eye catching and would attract any type of reader. There are many spanish words in this book, but the spanish glossary on the back is very helpful. This book can be used with children eight and older. Here is a webiste with additional information about this book, along with many other links to children's poetry books.

  1. Hi Rebekah!

I hope that your weekend has gone good so far! I have been reading your posts and love all of them! I truly enjoyed reading about this poetry book for children. As we have all learned, in our class by now, poetry is one of the greatest genres of all time. It is so crucial that we as educators allow our classroom to be informed about poetry. This book, along with it's wonderful illustrations, would be a great source for children to enhance apon. The Latino heritage of the poems, as well, will allow the children to see the wide range of culture that surrounds many towns, such as San Antonio today.

Thank you so much for sharing this poetry book with us! Have a great week, and I will see you on Wednesday!
