Here is another book I believe would be useful for preschool-2nd grade level. My mom introduced this book to me about a month ago. She is a librarian and always tells me about new exciting books for children. This book is entitled "The Kissing Hand" and is simply about the anxieties a child may have before starting school. Some of you may have children, nieces, nephews, or grandchildren who have separation issues. This book is really cute and I hope that you would use it in your classrooms or at home. I agree with you that this book could be used from preschool through the second grade level. I also thnk that this book can be used in the classroom to help children with anxiety and seperation issues. I like the website link you provided, it has some of her other books that look interesting and many activities you could try in your classroom. This would be a book I would use if I thaught preschool through second grade.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a perfect book for my niece. She is extremely close to her mother. My sister held off on school while she was pregnant. She was full time mom. Abbie is going to have a hard time leaving her when she starts Pre-K next year. Thanks I will definitely let her know about this book. She will love it! :)

ReplyDeleteIt really does seem like a good book, especially for children starting school for the first time, or even just starting at a new school, and having all the anxiety come rushing back to them. Thanks alot, and now I am defeintely gonna have to go check out the book!!
